Size 12 in China

I had just gone to china on a business trip and was there shopping for some shoes. to my horror those guys dont have anything above 8. i just wonder why. the salesman is trying to convince me to go for the size 10,which i could find in just couple of malls. its so astonishingas i thought everythign was made in china and when i am there, i cant find the right size.
