Project Runway Alumnis

Ah, I wonder what some of the project runway folks are up to these days. I know that some are apprenticed to designers, but others seem to have fallen out of popularity. Anyone have any news on them?

What is that?

I'm not familiar with "Project Runway." What is it? A TV show, theater? I've not heard of it before. Now you have me curious.

It's a semi reality show/contest like the apprentice. Desgining hopefuls compete through completing tasks like designing clothing, with their results being judged by people from the fashion industry. I think I saw part of it once. The contestants were desgining clothing using junk. What a world.

As tough as the industry is, even if a budding designer doesn't win, the exposure has to be a real boost for those just starting. People who are seriously interested will find something to like about each participant. Win / Win!

I saw a piece on some

I saw a piece on some fashion channel the other night about Jeffrey (last season's winner) and his new 'collection'.  The stuff looked awful, but then I thought his stuff on the show was sort of awful too.

I love project runway. I

I love project runway. I never seem to catch it when it's a new episode but I love to watch Project Runway marathons after the season has ended. If you haven't seen it you should check it out=)

...rarely appeals to me as something worth spending money on unless it's a ready to wear line. Most shows remind me of auto shows with those concept cars. Something that is interesting as art, and might be based on sound theory, but not for actual use.

I love the real fashion designers. I've seen Project Runway, and there's way too much fussing, artistic temper tantrums, unrealistic deadlines, and bad samples of fabric. I especially hate the way they treat the models. A pincushion is what she is. That's not very respectable!
