Nah, I have never done that, but I will buy shoes to match a new outfit. But my son who is a shoeaholic, will buy a pair of sneakers and then build an outfit around those shoes. Now he didn't get that from me...it is just something that he does...
My husband does that too. He is a shoe fiend. If he wants a pair of shoes, he will buy them even if he has nothing to wear with them, then as you said, goes and builds an outfit around them.
