Dear Santa,

I have been a SUPER good girl this year (helped cute old ladies with their groceries, did lots of volunteer work, and didn't beat anyone up for getting in my way during a shoe sale). In light of this model behavior, I'm hoping you could deck my bachelorette pad's halls with shoes. Been an angel all year...and it's only a small list, really:

1. Christian Louboutin. Clichy Pump in Nude. Cameron Diaz loves these, too!

2. Dolce Vita Wooden Wedges in Midnight Blue. A favorite of Katherine Heigl.

Only a few more, Santa... read more...

Okay...let's be honest, my gorgeous shoe-a-holics: we judge people by their shoes. Not by brand or price or any other such snobbery, but by genre, style, and aesthetic. You can tell so much about people by their footwear. Like to see this in action? Let's play a game! Match the celeb to the shoe that best fits her (no peeking) and then click "Read More..."

Huge Sale at BlueflyFor those of you who love the high fashion shoe designers, but feel that some of the prices you see at Neiman Marcus or Bergdorf Goodman are a little out-of-control, you might be interested in checking out Bluefly. Bluefly is one of our advertising partners, so I openly admit my bias, but we really do love the store and enjoy promoting them on ShoeIQ. Why? Because they're one of the only online retailers who offer exclusive name brands like Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Prada, Gucci, etc (personally I'm a fan of the black Camper Pelotas ), at prices that bring some of these brands within reach for the majority of us who have to satisfy shoe addictions on a budget. Now I'm not suggesting they're cheap - these shoes are the real deal, after all - but they are in some cases much less expensive than at some of the major department stores. And right now, they're having a big sale with some items up to 85% off their original list price! Visit Bluefly today to take advantage of this limited time offer. read more...

I’ve been working day in and day out. As a fashion stylist in LA this happens. I’ve been working non stop. After pulling more shoes this past week I think I’ve it my limit. I pulled them all Jimmy, Hype, Kenneth, Kors, it just goes on and on and on.

Now fashion week in less then 2 weeks here in LA. I’m going to almost every show and party. But before I can have my fun, I need to find a great pair of shoes for me. Yes, ladies…I to need some sole love. I will be going to where any footwear lover goes…Rodeo Dr. I told myself that since I’ve been a good this past month I could buy 3 shoes. So I’m going to Gucci, Sergio Rossi, and NM. read more...

About gucci

History and Background on Gucci Shoes: Guccio Gucci (1881-1953) developed a taste for beauty and elegance as a young man while working as a lift attendant in London's opulent Savoy Hotel at the turn of the 19th century. Gucci founded the House of Gucci as a saddlery shop in Florence in 1906. Gucci's first talent was his craftsmanship in leather goods. In 1921, after his return to Florence, he opened a shop at 7 Via della Vigna Nuova selling luggage and saddlery, as well as a small workshop that handcrafted them. In need of expansion, the workshop, which also had begun to produce Gucci shoes as well as its original equitation goods, was relocated to a larger space on Lungarno Guicciardini along the Arno River in 1937. By this time the iconic bit and stirrups, which were derived from the company's origins and denoted the sophistication of the products, had come to represent Gucci's success. In 1938 Gucci opened his first retail shop on the Via Condotti in Rome. Here, Gucci discovered the distinctive potential of hemp, linen, jute and the signature bamboo. The one-man business became a family business when sons Aldo, Vasco, and Ugo joined the company in 1939. Another son, Rodolfo, later joined the company and in 1951, he opened a shop in Milan. The opening of the Manhattan store on 58th Street in 1953 launched the Gucci brand as one of the pioneers of Italian design in the United States. In 1947 the immediately recognizable Gucci icon, the leather handbag with bamboo handle, was created. During the 1950’s the trademark red striped webbing is introduced, taken from its original form place on a saddle girth. Gucci created many of his classic handbags early during the 1950’s; products such as luggage, ties, shoes, and the famous Gucci handbags sporting the bamboo handle. After his death in 1953, his family was able to take the enormously successful company to new heights by opening stores in Paris, Beverly Hills, London, Palm Beach, and Tokyo. The 1960’s brought increased fame to the Gucci Empire. Such Hollywood stars as Grace Kelly, Peter Sellers and Audrey Hepburn made the name Gucci synonymous with “chic”. Jackie Kennedy helped by being photographed with the Gucci handbag, which subsequently became known as the “Jackie O” handbag. Gucci shoes are now among the most sought after shoes today.
