In the spirit of the season, I'd like to direct your attention to a few worthwhile causes. Or if you'd like to find a few of your own check out this site.
"At Shoes That Fit, we provide new shoes and/or clothes to children in need so that they can attend school in comfort and with dignity. We do this by matching a sponsoring group—a business, school, church, civic organization or even a group of friends—with schools near them that have children in need."
"Every day 1 in 8 babies born in the U.S. arrives too soon. Premature birth can happen to any pregnant woman, and no one knows why. It is a serious, common and costly problem. The March of Dimes is leading the campaign to reduce premature birth by supporting research and by educating the public and health care providers." MS Walk 2007 and the National MS Society An annual event for me and my family, we join thousands of others in the Greater Los Angeles MS Walk. Join us this year at the Rose Bowl or donate to this charity that holds a special place in my heart and "sole."
