The Skinny on Shoes. Rachel Zoe and Piperlime.

The cat is out of the bag...someone knows I'm shoe-obsessed and they've told the world. This arrived in my mailbox the other day:

Piperlime is the shoe peddler and Rachel Zoe is their guest editor... 

Now while celebs and shoes are usually my schtick, Rachel Zoe isn't exactly a celebrity...but she IS the one who dresses them. And spoon feeds them their bland, ahem, brand of style. Her followers include Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, and Lindsay Lohan. Zoe was also responsible for the whittling-down-to-flute-size of the two latter celebs. (Side note: If you would like to pay me $5,000 per day to dress you up and make you pretty -- I'm all yours. I'll even throw in some private yoga classes and psychotherapy sessions, too! And I absolutely will NOT put you on any kooky diets!!)

Piperlime has sprung from the loins of none other than GAP, Inc. This is their first real foray into the realm of shoes. The plan is that Piperlime will be completely web-based, with no physical stores. The site is super cute, clean and green, though I'm not sure what pipers or limes have to do with shoes. What I like best is the WIDE range of designers! They've got Hollywould, Easy Spirit, Timberland, and Doc Martens. Never thought you'd see those in the same place or even the same sentence, did ya?!

Ah, this is a true month of firsts: Gap does shoes. And Rachel Zoe recommends that something be CHUNKY.
