Shopping Smart
Okay, so. You're on a budget. You've cut up your credit cards, vowing never to spend again. BUT... you've been lured into the department store with promises of good deals because you still love to shop and you have a hard time not wanting to buy those new clothes.
You don't have to spend $300 on two pieces. There is a better way. Really, I promise there is. And you don't have to sacrifice your great sense of style.
I was in Dillard's not long ago because they were having a sale. (I promise this DOES have to do with shoes - just you wait haha) Now, in my experience, they have great sales. And this one didn't disappoint - 75% off with an additional 30% off. Of course, you have to dig the sale racks to find the decent stuff, but it's totally worth it. I found a really great Michael Kors cowl neck, sleeveless shirt for $17 dollars (marked down from $70!).
Then it was off to the shoes. I love shoes. I can usually find something, especially if it's on sale. They were having a great sale on shoes, I found Michael Kors (he seems to be IN right now for me! hehe) shoes on sale for $18, marked down from $98. That was a STEAL. I couldn't not by them. They're the same style as a pair I have, but they're in a different color. Who says you can't have the same shoe in the same style but different colors?
The next day, a coworker friend and I headed to Stein Mart. She tells me they always have sales. So we went and dug through the sale racks. Now, they have lots of cute stuff. And yes, you have to dig for the good stuff. But you know what? I found yet another Michael Kors shirt on sale for $18. That seems to be the going rate, eh? It was marked down from $70.
I'm very pleased with the deals I found. It just goes to prove you can find those designers you love at a great price. You may just have to dig a little for the really good pieces. I think there's something rather triumphant about that. It's like winning the Shopping Lottery or something.
