Shoe Movers?

This weekend, I’m moving into a new house. I’ve been wondering what to blog about when it hit me – I need to blog about moving shoes.

It’s been a hectic two weeks. I mean, I found a house, put a contract on it, negotiated and closed inside of two weeks. I can’t believe the whirlwind! At the time of this writing, I’m in mid-move. By the time this hits the blog – I’ll be in my new house with furniture.

But the thing is – I packed up my shoes. And I have a confession. It took FOUR extra large boxes to pack up my entire shoe collection. Okay, just those in the boxes. The shoes that have no boxes are still at large and will be transported via a large plastic hamper I have.

It got me to thinking – and please don’t think I’m insane because I’ve had a few glasses of wine now and I’m feeling rather relaxed and somewhat tipsy – but I think there should be shoe movers. Don’t you? I mean – there needs to be someone to come and pack up my shoes and move them to my new location because having to figure out the geometry of how to pack the shoe boxes in a very large box was taxing for me.

Of course, that’s because I suck at math and geometry and it was trying to figure it out. But that’s just me.

So I decided shoe movers were in order. Maybe I’m delusional. Maybe I’ve had too much to drink or maybe I’m just overly tired. Either way – I’m totally on board with the whole pack up the shoes and get the moved idea. Someone who will handle them with care. Someone who understands the obsession with fine footwear. You know?

Okay, I get it. I’m totally off the deep end here, aren’t I? It’s okay. I’m just in a momentary state of shock from buying a house all on my own and actually moving. It’s happening. And it’s still so surreal that I have a house all my own.

And the best part? My closet in my new house is twice the size of the one in the apartment. Which, of course, means more room for shoes. :)
