Shoe hat, anyone?
Okay so... I was wondering what to blog about this week when I ran across the picture at the left. I mean, I think I stared at it for a good ten minutes before I finally moved on to what I was actually doing.
I saw it on Yahoo. Apparently, this is a creation by Japanese designer Kazuo Takashima for the 2007 Spring & Summer Tokyo Collection. I'm not sure if I would be tooting around town in something like this, but it is rather unusual. Isn't it?
It got me to thinking... why would you want to wear a shoe on your head anyway? I mean, I guess if it was a Manolo or something...then, maybe. But not this. It's kinda tacky, don't you think? Of course, it doesn't help that her eyeliner is running all over the place. You'd think she could get it together instead of looking like a football player about to head to the line of scrimage. Blue 23! Blue 23! Hut! Hut!
Unless of course that's the look she was going for. Who knows. She is a model after all. I wonder what the rest of her line up looked like? Did she run backstage, whisk off the shoe hat and put a boot on top of her head? Maybe it was one of those boots that zips up the side and she carefully balanced it on her crown, peeking through the unzipped portion... Hm.
Not that I'm bashing model-types. Oh no. I just think this whole shoe-on-the-head thing is weird. Mabye it's just me, but I prefer my shoes right where they belong - on my feet or safely secured in their original box in my closet.
