Let Them Wear Cons!

By now you've likely seen Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. If not, you absolutely MUST. For the sheer, stunningly cupcakey confectionality of it all! There are tons of beautifully beaded, flower-adorned shoes, luscious fashion, and desserts galore...

For those of you who were paying attention and not completely lost in the drunken visual splendor of MA, you'll remember the brief glimpse of a Converse sneaker in Marie's (aka Kirsten Dunst's) closet. Your eyes were not deceiving you, that most definitely WAS a Pink Con in the closet. Such a fun little touch! And guess who did the repro's of 18th century French shoes...none other than Mr. Manolo Blahnik himself. Yum.

It got me thinking...that crazy pink Converse shoe. Perhaps if the French had Cons back then, they may not have been so angry with their Queen. I find shoes to be excellent therapy and anger management. I slip one of my favorite pairs on, et voila! I am calm. My feet are happy and pretty. Life is beautiful.

We need a time machine, lots of Cons, and some cupcakes.
