Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Tod’s…. Help me, help her!

This past week, in the mist of the craziness of my life, one of my really good friends asked me if I could help her out. I called her back, 6 hours later, and asked her, "So what’s going on?" She went on to tell me how she was going out with some new guy and blah blah blah blah. The kicker in this was that she had no idea what to wear on their first date. Now, she knows that there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her. She told me that she had a few days, but no time to shop for anything because of her work load.

I’m thinking, sure why not! After all, I only have two shoots coming up, a mountain of paper work, 3 parties I have to go to, an interview that’s been pushed back more times then even I can count, and I’ve yet to sit down and see this week’s installment of Project Runway! Now, before I could think of a way to kind of get out of it she says, "Don’t forget shoes! I know I always say: no shoes. So go crazy! Get me what I know you know I want, but don’t know it yet!"

Now, how could I say no to that! So I tell her that I’ll have to do everything online and with no budget. She can pick out which ever outfit she likes best and have it sent by FedEx the next day. She says fine. I say, "Love you." With that, I’m off and running!

Knowing that I only have an hour or two to do this, I think fast and hit my www.google.com button. Type in Luxury and boom: www.eluxury.com I send her 5 looks. I give her my reason(s) for each pick. I also noted each look by saying what each outfit would say about her to him.

This is what I sent to her:

Look 1: Marissa Sunglasses by Tom Ford, Ruffled Silk Shirtdress by Juicy Couture. Diorissimo Hobo by Dior, and the White Dior Country Runway Pump

This look is for a day time date. Your hair needs to be up in a high, loose curl ponytail, with a flip in the front. Think 40’s pin up girls with a twist. Keep the make up light and fresh. Everything in this outfit says chic, powerful, classic! Yet the shoes are the only item in a white, but are the key to tying your look together. The tie finish goes back to the tie ribbon on the dress, but it’s not over the top obvious. The round toe helps to soften up your look. The heel helps give you a bit of a boost which I know you love. Remember, white is a color associated with: Purity & Hope! Pick this if you want him to think you’re pure and that there’s hope for a second date.

Once more day time, but with color and it can go to a night look as well! I’m thinking lunch in Malibu or Pacific Palisades. Hair down and light makeup only. Pink tones work well for makeup. The dress is a great color for you. The earrings are fun, but not school girl fun. The bag has a great print and works back to what you have in your closet. The shoes, I know what your thinking, but hear me out. There sandals! Apart from that great point, the black ties in with the hand bag and the gold tone works back to the earring. The snake detailing on them, along with the color of the dress and stones in the earrings give off a pre-Columbian feel with a modern take. Think: Cocktail party off the Yucatan on a yacht. He’ll see how vibrant you are, yet at the same time wonder just how dangerously fun can you be!

Look 3: High Society Chiffon Ruffle Top by Nanette Lepore, Ric Rac Wide-Leg Jean by Citizens of Humanity, D'Trick Jacquard Flap Clutch by Dior, Coupe Pump by Tod's

This is a great day to night look. Black top, dark denim, the light accessories still make it for day, but still carry you into night. You can bump up your makeup as the day goes on. Don’t do your hair like the girl in the picture! Think something more like a slick and pulled back feel. Now, the nice thing about the bag is the pink tone. It softens the look. I know how much you love open toe heels! These should work great for you. Also, you don’t own a pair of Tod’s. These are super cute! They have great details like the tie and buttons, and because of the style & color combo, you can wear them with light or dark denim, shorts, a white jersey dress, and a tone of other ways. It’s just a great shoe to add to your collection. This look tells him you’re classic and sweet!

I like this as a beer date look. I know, your asking, "What is a beer date?" It’s like when we go out - you know when we go to a pub, have a few beers, and feel like one of the boys. It’s a strong look for you. The trench is for when he picks you up or if it’s a bit cold. Wear the white button up top out. The black skinny jeans will highlight your body. While the boots add that biker feel. Their leather, black, and have a buckle! The boots just say, "Not only can I drink you under, but I can kick your ass and you’ll like it!"

Day look all the way. This is so OC. This is outdoor patio lunch & drinks, followed by a drive down the coastline. Now you know I love you. So trust me on the print. It has good colors and a great cut for you. The earrings, you want to keep them simple. The bag I choose should work well with the dress and will tie in with the shoes I picked. The shoes are Dior and they have a great look and feel to them. I love the detailing and the straps look of them. The green and blond wood tones will help tie the dress & bag together without even trying. This look just tells him, "I’m low maintenance, fun, and wild. All rolled into one!"

Now, I don’t know what look she went for. I know her date was this weekend and she promised to call me to fill me in on how everything went. All I know so far is, if she opts to leave her date; she’ll be doing so in a great outfit and a fabulous pair of shoes!
