A Time To Buy
There comes a time in every girl’s life where you have to stop and buy the shoes.
I recently bought a house and since I’ve been in a money crunch trying to save for it, I have put myself on a spending hiatus. This is a tragedy for a girl who loves to buy shoes. Really and truly. How was I going to survive the next few months without shoes? Without BUYING shoes? It was an awful state of affairs.
So last week, my boss told me about a great sale at one of the local department stores. She told me it was 75 percent off with an additional 30 percent off of that price. They had a lot of their shoes marked down and I should go. Take a long lunch and just go.
I did what any self-respecting female would do. I took off for the mall. And lo and behold, they really did have a smashing sale. I headed for the sale racks where I found not much of anything.
And then… under a shining beacon of light… there they were. A pair of wedge heel BCBG shoes in white. I swear they looked like Barbie shoes to me. And of course, I had to have them. So I snatched the box and headed to the checkout.
Imagine my disappointment and horror when I asked for the lid to the box and the salesman told me they had thrown it away. I was aghast. How could they? How was I supposed to keep them in pristine condition and dust-free with no lid to the box? The horror!
But then my horror was quickly replaced by amazement. A pair of $90 shoes I got for a whopping $16. Now THAT’S a sale.
I’m waiting for just the right moment to wear them. Of course, they’re white and it would be a fashion faux pas to wear them after Labor Day. But you know what? I live in Texas and it’s still 90 degrees outside and I think the weather should dictate what you wear. So by gosh I’m wearing those write BCBG wedge heel open-toed shoes. And no one can stop me.
